The Gradient Skies: Nordiska Museet

Or the Nordic Museum holds a collection of over half a million exhibits, including everyday objects and exclusive items, reflecting life in Sweden from 16th century up to present day. They currate exhibitions devoted to interior design, jewelry, traditional items and their settings within fashion, as well as they exhibit the work of local artists, both contemporary and historical.
It lies on the island Djurgården, in the vicinity of Moderna Museet, which I will tell you about in the future.
The whole place is amazing from the architectural point of view & they have a lovely bistro, so if you want to explore the Scandinavian culture a bit, I would suggest to spend a day here. The entrance fee is 100SEK, however from September to May it is free of charge on wednesdays from 5-8pm.

Alebo Severské Múzeum je domovom pre vyše pol milióna výstavných exemplárov, od predmetov dennej potreby po exkluzívne kusy, ktoré odrážajú život vo Švédsku od 16eho storočia po súčasnosť. Nordiska usporiadava výstavy, zamerané na tradičné objekty v súvislosti s interiérovým designom, módou alebo šperkárskou tvorbou. Takisto vystavujú práce lokálnych umelcov, tvoriacich v súčasnosti aj v minulosti.
Nordiska leží na ostrove Djurgården, v blízkosti Moderna Museet, do ktorého sa (opäť) chystám čoskoro.
Budova múzea je spektakulárna zvonku aj zvnútra a majú aj skvelé bistro, takže ak budete mať chuť si preštudovať švédsku kultúru, odporúčam ísť sem. Vstupné stojí 100SEK, ale od septembra do mája je každú stredu od piatej do ôsmej vstup zdarma.

Me and my class went here for a workshop, where we were analysing fashion magazines from the 20th century onwards. Nordiska has an amazing library collection of magazines from all over the world and the library itself is a modern place, with moveable blocks of shelves and study areas with these green glass lamps.

Bola som tam s triedou na workshope, kde sme analyzovali módne magazíny a ich vývoj od dvadsiateho storočia po dnes. Nordiska má neuveriteľnú zbierku časopisov z celého sveta a sú všetky usporiadané v knižnici s posuvnými blokmi políc. V knižnici sú aj mini čitárne so zelenými sklenými lampami.

My group consisted of a Brasilian, German, Italian and me picked three issues of Vogue UK from 1938 and compared it with 1988 from the points of view of a scope, typography, photography, headings, message and content.

Moja skupina - Slovenka & Talianka & Brazílka & Nemka sme si na analýzu vybrali Vogue UK a porovnávali sme čísla z roku 1938 a 1988 na základe rozdielov v zábere, typografii, nadpisoch, fotke, odkaze a obsahu.

Comparing the magazines, most of us appreciated the minimalistic design of the isssues from before 50s, using clean sans serif typefaces combined with hand written fragments/article headlines. And the use of the blank spaces in favour of pictures or articles.

Z porovnávania nám vyplynulo, že pred 50s sa omnoho viac používala čistá/nepotlačená plocha ako médium, spolupracujúce s obrazom a textom. Mne sa veľmi páčili sans serify v kombinácii s ručne písanými nadpismi alebo fragmentami textov. Takého si viem predstaviť viac aj v súčasných časopisoch.
